The Greatest Journey Begins with Jesus Christ

The good news is that God knows your story, loves you deeply, and has made a way for you to be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
This message is called the Gospel, and it is the greatest news the world has ever received.
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10 (NKJV)
What Is the Gospel?
The word Gospel simply means “Good News.”
The Gospel is the message that although every person has sinned against God and deserves judgment, God, in His great love, provided salvation through Jesus Christ.
The Gospel is not about becoming a better person.
It is not about religion.
It is not about earning God’s favor.
It is about what God has already done for us through Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul summarized the Gospel this way:
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NKJV)
The Gospel is built upon these historic truths:
- He offers eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.
- Jesus Christ died for our sins.
- He was buried.
- He rose from the dead.
Why Did Jesus Come?
Jesus did not come merely to teach good morals or start a new religion.
He came to rescue sinners.
From the beginning of history, humanity has been separated from God because of sin. No amount of good works, religion, or personal effort can bridge that separation.
Jesus came to do what we could never do for ourselves.
He lived the sinless life we could not live.
He willingly died the death we deserved.
He rose again to conquer sin and death forever.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 (NKJV)
Jesus Himself declared:
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10 (NKJV)
The Problem: Sin
Before we can understand the good news, we must first understand the bad news.
The Bible teaches that every person has sinned.
Sin is any thought, word, attitude, or action that falls short of God’s perfect holiness.
It includes the things we do, the things we fail to do, and the condition of our hearts apart from God.
Scripture says:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23 NKJV
Because God is perfectly holy and perfectly just, sin separates us from Him.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
That death is not merely physical, it is spiritual separation from God.
Without Christ, every person stands guilty before a holy God.
What Is Repentance?
Repentance is more than feeling sorry.
The biblical word means a change of mind that results in a change of direction.
When we repent, we acknowledge our sin, turn away from trusting ourselves, and turn toward Jesus Christ in faith.
Repentance is not about becoming perfect before coming to God. It is about surrendering to Him and allowing Him to transform your life.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” – Acts 3:19 (NKJV)
The Cross
The cross is the greatest demonstration of God’s love.
Jesus Christ willingly took our place.
Although He lived a completely sinless life, He bore the punishment our sins deserved.
God’s justice was satisfied.
God’s love was displayed.
Our debt was paid in full.
Isaiah prophesied centuries before Jesus came:
“He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities… and by His stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
Paul writes:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
When Jesus declared,
“It is finished.” (John 19:30)
He announced that the work necessary for our salvation had been completed.
Nothing can be added to what Christ accomplished on the cross.
The Resurrection
The resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith.
Three days after His crucifixion, Jesus physically rose from the dead.
His resurrection proves:
- He is the Son of God.
- His sacrifice was accepted by the Father.
- Sin has been defeated.
- Death has been conquered.
- Eternal life is available to all who believe.
Because Jesus lives, everyone who trusts Him has the hope of eternal life.
“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.” – Matthew 28:6 (NKJV)
The Romans Road is a simple way to understand God’s plan of salvation through key verses from the book of Romans.
1. Everyone Has Sinned
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
No one is righteous on their own.
2. Sin Has Consequences
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Sin earns death, but God freely offers eternal life.
3. God Demonstrated His Love
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus died for us while we were still sinners.
4. Salvation Is Available to Everyone Who Believes
Romans 10:9–10
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
5. Call Upon the Lord
Romans 10:13
“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” This promise is for everyone who places their faith in Jesus Christ.
How to Receive Jesus Christ
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace.
It cannot be earned through:
- Good works
- Church attendance
- Baptism
- Religious rituals
- Moral living
The Bible says:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith… not of works.” – Ephesians 2:8–9 (NKJV)
To receive Christ:
- Admit that you are a sinner.
- Believe Jesus died and rose again for your salvation.
- Repent and turn to Him.
- Trust Him alone as your Lord and Savior.
- Receive His gift of eternal life by faith.
If this expresses the desire of your heart, you can pray to God in your own words. A prayer does not save you, only Jesus does. Prayer is simply one way to express your faith.
A Simple Prayer – Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. Today I turn from my sin and place my trust in Jesus Christ alone as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life. Help me to follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
What Happens When You Trust Christ?
The moment you genuinely place your faith in Jesus Christ:
- Your sins are completely forgiven.
- You are reconciled to God.
- You become a child of God.
- The Holy Spirit comes to live within you.
- You receive eternal life.
- You become a new creation in Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
