Sometimes it irritates me when people say I’m “too religious.” I’m not chasing religion—I’m following Jesus Christ. There’s a big difference. Religion can be rules and appearances, but following Jesus is about surrender, obedience, and a real relationship with Him.
What makes it harder is hearing this from people who claim to be—or once claimed to be—religious themselves. If we truly know Christ, why would devotion to Him be mocked or minimized? The truth is, this isn’t a battle against people. It’s spiritual. The enemy loves confusion, labels, and distractions when someone is walking closely with Jesus.
Jesus never promised that following Him would be popular or understood.
“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
— 2 Timothy 3:12 NKJV
I’m not here to please people and I don’t have to worry about being labeled “too religious” when I’m simply being faithful to who He has called me to be. I’m here to follow Christ. 🙏✝️
