Psalm 28:7 (NKJV) — “The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.”
There are days when our hearts feel heavy, our strength feels thin, and the battles around us seem larger than what we can carry. Yet David reminds us of a powerful truth: our strength is not found within ourselves, but in the Lord who holds us.
When David wrote these words, he wasn’t speaking from a life of ease. He understood fear, pressure, and uncertainty. But he also understood the miracle of trust.
And this is the heart of the verse:
“My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.”
God never asks us to supply the strength—He asks us to supply the trust.
When we lean on Him, He lifts us.
When we call on Him, He protects us.
When we surrender to Him, He becomes our shield against everything that tries to break us.
Notice the shift in the verse:
• Trust → Help
• Help → Joy
• Joy → Praise
This is the rhythm of a life anchored in God.
When we trust Him, help comes.
When help comes, joy rises.
And when joy rises, praise flows naturally.
Today, let this be your reminder:
No matter what is on your shoulders, the Lord is your strength.
No matter what is against you, the Lord is your shield.
No matter what lies ahead, you will be helped.
And when God helps you—your heart will rejoice again.
Pause today and whisper this simple prayer:
“Lord, I trust You. Be my strength. Be my shield.”
May your heart find fresh joy and a new song of praise as you rest in the truth of Psalm 28:7.
