Smashing Pride & Be Humbled

I still at times ask God to smash my pride with His grace. Sometimes I just need that confidence more than ever before. A few weeks ago me and my wife went to see Daniel at the Sight & Sound theater in Lancaster, PA. I learned that King Nebuchadnezzar had a serious pride issue and ended up being humiliated by God. God had to humble him. I have learned that there is a difference in pride versus confidence. Pride will try to take credit for things it can’t do on its own. Confidence allows me to stand strong and realize the power and presence of the One who is greater than all. Daniel 4:37 – And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

I pray that the Lord will continue to soften my heart and that I don’t forget that the most accurate view of myself will only come from God. I also need to be reminded that sin still remains in me and is very deceiving.
